Yahoo! Asks If You’d ‘Wear’ A Dress Made Of 50,000 Gummy Bears…

13 Jul

The Twist Gossip

An Alexander McQueen-inspired custom dress made of 50,0000 gummy bears was created for TWELV magazine. Yahoo asks “Would You Wear It?” Well, no Yahoo, I’m a sensible person, I’d do the expected thing and EAT IT.

In 55 seconds flat this whole 220 pound dress would be gone. All that would be left is a grinning 26 year-old Susan Boyle lookalike with multi-colored pieces of candy stuck to her braces.

I cannot find information on whether it’s made out of Haribo, Black Forest, or Albanese. The latter would be my guess since they’re the only ones who make the blue ones. Not that they couldn’t have just dyed them or used fancypants imported European gummies. Regardless, I’m sick of lollygagging…

Skillet Cornbread

13 Jul

yumm yumm B)

Cookie Talk

My first memories of cornbread are in Southern Ohio where I have family. My great uncle and great grandma would make all the fixin’s with fried chicken, beans, cornbread, and I’m sure other things (Mom, what else?).

But I am from much farther north where this kind of food doesn’t really exist, at least in my world. So it was weird to me. I wasn’t a terribly adventurous eater as a kid either. And I just thought cornbread was strange and I assumed I didn’t like it, even though I don’t recall ever trying a bite until I was an adult. And I love it.  I wonder what I missed by not trying my great uncle’s cornbread from years ago.

Now this Yankee is living in the Deep South where cornbread is king, and you absolutely do not ever put any sugar or anything sweet in your cornbread. Because that…

Rosemary's Blog

Yesterday was the 2012 Georgetown Garden Walk.  My friend Carol and I strolled around, map in hand, enjoying the garden ramble.  We re-visited old favorites from last year’s Walk, and eyed a few new surprises.  This year the Garden Walk was made extra special by art in the gardens, a co-event called “Cross Pollinate.”

My absolute favorite part of the Georgetown Garden Walk was Jon B. Dove’s garden cottage.  I would love to have a garden retreat like this to write, paint, and work on my blog. Here are some photos:

So this is how the story went
I met someone by accident
who blew me away
who blew me away

Image

It was in the darkest of my days
When you took my sorrow and you took my pain
And buried them away, you buried them away

Image

And I wish I could lay down beside you

When the day is done

And wake up to your face against the morning sun
But like everything I’ve ever known
you’ll disappear one day
So I’ll spend my whole life hiding my heart away

Image

I dropped you off at the train station
And put a kiss on top of your head
I watched you wave
I watched you wave
Then I went on home to my skyscrapers
Neon lights and waiting papers
That I call…

Life.Love.Lessons.

Sundays have recently become a day of adventure for my friend and I.

More so now that it is winter and sundays haven’t been reserved as much for a day of recovery.

Today we decided to go and check out Marysville and the snow on Lake Mountain.

So we rugged ourselves up and headed off to the hills with a lovely picnic.

Lake Mountain is a short distance from Marysville which is a one and half hour drive from Melbourne.

Both of us hadn’t been there before and we were pleasantly surprised to see this beautiful little town that was bustling with people.

At first glance, you would never know that this sweet, modern looking town was a victim of the black saturday bushfires that only happened three and half years ago.

In three and half years, this town (90% of which was destroyed in 2009) has rebuilt and…
